As film photographers we strive to control every aspect of image creation from exposure to developing and printing. Unfortunately, most film scanners and photo editing software introduce automated steps which often result in inconsistent and unpredictable output. With Positif you keep full control over the process and always achieve accurate and consistent results.
Positif uses a Calibration Target to characterize your whole scanning setup (a light source, a camera and a lens). Calibration is crucial for achieving good and repeatable output. With a Positif Calibration Target the process is fully automated and takes just a few minutes. Detailed instructions are also provided should you choose to make your own calibration target.
Start with processing a single frame and once you are happy with your settings apply them to all files in a directory.
Positif uses the LibRaw library and supports a large and expanding list of digital cameras including legacy models. The library is regularly updated as new cameras appear on the market.
Positif is available on Windows, macOS and Linux. Download, install and give it a go!
Get StartedThe current preview version of Positif processes images at half the original size. The future release version will support full resolution.
